DESCRIPTION:Kutsinhira’s annual gathering Musangano (Umhlanango in Ndebele) is around the corner.  Saturday\, March 8\, 2:00-5:30.  All are welcome to join us as we share musical performances by our classes and ensembles\, share a delicious potluck meal\, and learn about all that Kutsinhira has done over the past year and upcoming plans. \nThe event is held in the Commons [cafeteria] at the Village School\, 3411 Willamette Street from 2:00 – 5:30ish.  Feel free to bring family and friends.  Please bring a drink\, snack or dish to share for the potluck and be sure to bring your own plates and utensils.  There will be an open jam after the event in Kutsinhira’s room at the Village School. \nSchedule of events is: \n2:00 – 2:10      Welcome \n2:10 – 3:10      Performance Set 1 \n3:10 – 4:00      Potluck \n4:00 – 4:30      Meeting \n4:30 – 5:30      Performance Set 2 \n6:00 – 7:00      Jam in KCAC Room \nParking is very limited at the school so please park on 35th Avenue and other neighborhood streets. \nWe look forward to having everyone together in celebration of our community\, Zimbabwe and the music.

SUMMARY:Kwaziwai in Zimbabwe Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Share in the excitement of Kwaziwai’s December 2024 trip to Zimbabwe\, including visits to Tariro\, Ubuntu\, Ngoma Ingungu and other cultural and community development projects supported by Kutsinhira’s Zimbabwe Community Development Program (ZCDP). Director Gary Spalter and members of Kwaziwai will present videos\, slides and memories from the trip in The Commons/Cafeteria at the Village School\, 3411 Willamette Street in Eugene. \nHighlights from the trip include playing marimba\, dancing\, singing\, learning mbira\, visiting a wildlife conservation park with new-found Zimbabwean friends\, and\, most importantly\, the heartfelt connections that were created through the love of the music of Zimbabwe. \nFree admission. Donations accepted.100% of all donations from this event will go to support ZCDP projects in Zimbabwe. \nZimbabwean arts and crafts will be available for purchase. \nLight refreshments will be served.
