DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin Jennifer Kyker for a discussion about her experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Zimbabwe. This year\, Jennifer has been co-curating the photographic exhibit ‘Chicago Dzviti: Portrait of Zimbabwe’ which is currently touring Zimbabwe. \nThe exhibit features photographs of many Zimbabwean mbira players and popular musicians\, from Ambuya Beauler Dyoko to Thomas Mapfumo. Jennifer will show a selection of images from the exhibit\, talk about her experience in Zimbabwe and answer questions. \nFollowing her talk\, there will be a short mbira concert by Jennifer and her longtime friend and musical mentor\, mbira master Musekiwa Chingodza who is visiting from Zimbabwe. \nWhen: Friday\, August 15th\, 7–8:30 PM\nWhere: The Village School Commons\, 3411 Willamette Street Eugene\, OR\nCost: FREE – donations are welcome and will support Kutsinhira’s educational\, charitable and cultural programs \nFor more information\, please email mkolo@q.com or swiftly41@gmail.com.
