“Chicago Dzviti—Portrait of Zimbabwe”: A photographic and music presentation with Jennifer Kyker

Join Jennifer Kyker for a discussion about her experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Zimbabwe. This year, Jennifer has been co-curating the photographic exhibit ‘Chicago Dzviti: Portrait of Zimbabwe’ which is currently touring Zimbabwe.

The exhibit features photographs of many Zimbabwean mbira players and popular musicians, from Ambuya Beauler Dyoko to Thomas Mapfumo. Jennifer will show a selection of images from the exhibit, talk about her experience in Zimbabwe and answer questions.

Following her talk, there will be a short mbira concert by Jennifer and her longtime friend and musical mentor, mbira master Musekiwa Chingodza who is visiting from Zimbabwe.
